A timeless mountain remedy for sinus and respiratory ailments. As a boy when a stuffy nose or chest congestion began to get the better of me Old Rube would pull down the old glass jar of herbs and oils and put a palm full in a bowl. A kettle would go on the stove and after it began to whistle she would pour a bit of the boiling water onto the herbal mixture in the bowl. I would be instructed to sit and breathe the steam with a towel over my head with long slow deep breaths.
Old Rube always knew how to make me feel better.
